The NCAA selection committee revealed the regional host sites for their 2018 edition of the NCAA Baseball tournament tonight, and despite making it to the ACC Baseball Championship title game for the first time in program history, the #25 Louisville Cardinals will not be hosting a regional for the opening round of the contest.
The exclusion from being a regional host breaks a 5 year streak of hosting games in the regional round, having hosted the inaugural round of the NCAA Tournament every year since 2013. During that stretch, Louisville is 15-0 in the regional round, making it the super regional round every year including 3 trips to Omaha, NE for the College World Series.
Louisville will learn their NCAA Baseball Tournament draw on Monday, May 28th when the selection show airs at noon on ESPNU.
