As expected, quarterback Malik Cunningham announced his commitment to Louisville this past weekend but we are still on commit watch as Tadarrius Patterson had Louisville as his favorite heading into his visit. While Patterson has not announced his decision yet, we anticipate we will hear something sooner rather than later, probably by the end of the week.
Along with Patterson, another name has surfaced that could be a new addition to the 2017 recruiting class, Octavius Matthews. Matthews is an under the radar JUCO running back that Petrino has been recruiting since Matthews was in high school. Listed at 6’1″, 200lbs and with a 4.45 40 yard dash, Matthews has great size and a great frame while also being very fast. It appears at this point that UofL would like to take at least 2 running backs in the 2017 recruiting class (My guess is Matthews and Jamari Peacock).
We will continue to monitor this recruitment and bring you more information as we get it.
