With the 523rd pick in the seventeenth round of the 2018 MLB Draft, the Cleveland Indians have selected University of Louisville right-handed pitcher Liam Jenkins.
While the native of Moneka, Illinois sported a season ERA of 6.46, it is a bit misleading. In his 14 appearances over the 2018 season, he surrendered all his earned runs in only 3 of them. Over his 11 other appearances (13.2 innings combined), he surrendered no earned runs and boasted a strikeout to walk ratio of 24-13. His opponents batting average of .189 was also the lowest among pitchers with double digit innings pitched.
