6’5″ UNC Asheville guard Dwayne Sutton announced his transfer to the University of Louisville Friday evening. The Louisville native and Manual grad averaged 30.5 minutes, 12.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game his freshman season at UNC Asheville. How does it feel to be committed to your hometown school? “It feels great!” Sutton said via text message. Sutton went on to describe the deciding factor in choosing Louisville “Just the fact that the coaching staff believe I can help and impact the team.” Sutton said “They seemed like they wanted me there. And I feel comfortable there academically and on the court.”
Sutton confirmed he will be a preferred walk-on while he sits out the 2016-2017 season, still leaving 1 available scholarship open for next year.
