Three University of Louisville football players were named to the 2015 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic football team, the league announced Wednesday.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative average during his academic career.

Earning the honor for the Cardinals are freshman offensive tackle Geron Christian, junior center Tobijah Hughley and senior placekicker John Wallace.

Christian, an offensive tackle, was the lone player to start all 13 games on the offensive line last season. An All-ACC honorable mention on the field, Christian earned academic honors after his first season as a student-athlete, and is one six true freshmen to earn academic honors within the league.

A two-year starter on the offensive line, Hughley made 24 starts over the last two seasons, including 12 in 2015. He graduated last fall with a degree in sports administration and is working toward a master’s degree in sports administration.

Wallace, one of the top kickers in school history, is working on his MBA after graduating in the spring of 2015. A native of Elizabethtown, Ky., Wallace ended his career as the school’s all-time leading field goal kicker with 66 and second in career points with 384. He finished last season season by hitting 15-of-21 field goal attempts and connected on 46-of-47 extra-point attempts.
