With the 164th pick in the fifth round of the 2018 MLB Draft, the Los Angeles Dodgers have selected University of Louisville second baseman Devin Mann.
Accompanying Josh Stowers as one of the only two returning starting position players from last year’s CWS team, Mann anchored down the 3 spot in the lineup all year. The junior from Baltimore, Ohio ranked third on the team in on base percentage (.446), slugging percentage (.504), RBIs (52), and total bases (115), trailing only Josh Stowers and Logan Wyatt in all 4 categories. He was also second on the team in home runs with 7 and in doubles with 17. Like his Omaha counterpart, Mann also had an amazing ACC Baseball Championship, going 8-17 with 2 home runs and 8 RBIs.
