With his offensive game firing on all cylinders, today first baseman Logan Wyatt was rewarded with ACC Player of the Week honors. He is the third Cardinal this season to be awarded with ACC weekly honors (Reid Detmers, Alex Binelas), and this is Wyatt’s second ACC Player of the Week award in his career (March 2018).

The junior All-American and Louisville native broke out of his slump at the plate in a huge way. Over the week against both in-state rival the Kentucky Wildcats and ACC foe Miami Hurricanes, Wyatt went 11-20 at the plate (.550) with 3 doubles, 3 home runs and 12 RBIs. Against Miami alone, he went 8-14 (.571) with 10 RBI over the entire series, including a 4-6, 2 home run and 6 RBI performance in game 2. His 6 RBIs in that game set a new season high for the Cards, and is the most RBIs in a game since he had 7 against Kent State on June 1, 2018 in the Lubbock Regional.

After going .269 with only 3 homers, 18 RBI and 4 doubles in his first 32 games, Wyatt has been on an absolute tear as of late. In his last 8 games, he has been batting an eye-popping .472 with a staggering 4 home runs, 20 RBIs and 5 doubles. His batting average of .321 is good for third on the team, and his team leading on base percentage of .484 and second best slugging percentage of .550 combines to make him the only player on the team with an OPS above 1 (1.034).

Logan Wyatt and the rest of the Cardinal Nine are set to do battle again tomorrow on the road against the Cincinnati Bearcats. First pitch is slated for 6:00pm and can be heard on 93.9 The Ville.
