On the second day of the 2021 MLB draft, Alex Binelas was selected 86th by the Milwaukee Brewers. The first and third baseman is headed back home to Wisconsin as the second player from Louisville to be drafted this year.
He finished his three-year career at Louisville with 33 homeruns and 123 RBIs and starting in 106 of 111 games played. In his final season he was batting .256 with 19 homeruns and was named to the All-ACC Second Team.
With this third-round selection, Binelas has a slot value of $699,700.
