One of the biggest facets of Dan McDonnell’s tenure as the head coach at the University of Louisville is his ability to mold young men into the players they need to be. Time and time again he has turned players ranging from top prospects to unranked & underdeveloped into All-Americans. That being said, player development comes much easier when you’re landing good recruiting classes. This year proves no different for Coach Mac, as he has landed yet another stellar class.

The program’s Class of 2019 peaks as high as the #14 nationally ranked class (Perfect Game) including nine players in the top 500 by Perfect Game (2 in top 100: Prosecky and Tulio). The class features five players who are ranked #1 at their position in their respective state, 3 players in the top 10 at their position nationally, and one player (Ryan Hawks) who is the #1 overall player in their state. Alongside the 14 incoming freshman, the Cards will also welcome JUCO transfer Levi Usher, an OF out of Kirkwood Community College who signed with Louisville in 2018.

Building on the success that this program achieved in 2019, this class will continue to raise the bar for the Louisville Baseball program, as well as ensure a bright future for themselves and the team. Listed below are all 14 incoming freshman heading into the 2020 season. With the help of Coach Mac, any one of them could wind up being on the All-American wall in right field.
