Louisville has lost 4-year starter Renato Brown for the rest of the 2023 season head coach Jeff Brohm announced Monday. Renato was injured on the pitiful excuse for a field in PREGAME warm-ups prior to Louisville’s game against Pitt at Acrisure Stadium (formerly Heinz Field).

Heinz Field/Acrisure was panned earlier this year by several outlets in September for being in haphazard condition and it’s routinely voted by the NFL as the league’s worst playing surface.

Unfortunately for the Cards Louisville will lose Renato (a West Palm Beach native) for the remaining 5 regular season games of 2023. Brown had successful surgery and will look forward to recovering in time for the 2024 season.

Meanwhile in Pittsburgh, no word on whether or not the groundskeeping crew (that apparently can’t grow grass during warm months) will be penalized in anyway.
