Louisville Outfielder Corey Ray has reached terms with the Milwaukee Brewers the MLB team announced Saturday morning. Corey will receive a signing bonus of $4,125,000, a record for the Brewers. Ray was the #5 overall pick in the 2016 Major League Baseball Draft.
Corey hit for .310 adding 15 Home Runs, and lead the Cards with 60 RBIs despite batting leadoff for nearly the entire seasons. Ray also added 44 stolen bases. Unfortunately for Louisville fans Corey didn’t play up to his usual level during the NCAA Tournament, particularly after the draft which has been a trend for highly drafted Cardinals following the draft.
The Brewers intend to play Corey Ray in Center Field initially and Ray should be assigned to club this week to make his professional debut.
