Louisville men’s basketball returns home for two games this week, starting with No. 12 Duke at 7 p.m. ET Tuesday at the KFC Yum! Center. The game will air on ACC Network.

The Cards have lost three in a row, most recently falling 90-65 at Wake Forest on Saturday. It was UofL’s third straight road game against teams undefeated at home this season. Duke had an eight-game winning streak snapped Saturday with an 80-76 home loss to Pitt.

Louisville is 9-13 all-time against Duke, including a 4-4 mark at home. The Blue Devils have won three straight in the series going back to 2021.

TOP STORYLINES

• Louisville is heading into the final game of four straight matchups against teams in the top five in the ACC standings. Those teams are a combined 21-6 in league play.

• Over the last five games, the Cardinals are 38-for-88 (43.2%) from 3-point range. Louisville has had a positive assist-to-turnover ratio in six of the last eight games after only accomplishing the feat in two of the first 10 games.

• Louisville’s Kenny Payne and Duke’s Jon Scheyer – both coaching their alma mater – are the only two Division I head coaches in the country who have won national championships as a player and as a coach (both as assistants).

• In the last five games, redshirt sophomore Mike James is averaging 18.8 points per game, while shooting 54.2% from the field (32 of 59), 70.6% from 3-point range (12 of 17) and 81.8% from the free-throw line (18-22).

Louisville men’s basketball lost the rebounding and turnover battles to Duke, falling 79-62 at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The Cardinals were outscored 16-6 in second-chance points and 14-6 on points off turnovers, despite outshooting the Blue Devils from the field for most of the game.

Louisville opened the game with a 7-1 run and took its largest lead of the night at 18-9 on a basket by senior forward Sydney Curry at the 13:15 mark.

Senior guard El Ellis had 11 of his 21 points in the first five minutes of the game.

Duke scored 13 straight after Curry’s bucket and turned it into a 20-4 run to go up 29-22 with 6:11 to play. The Blue Devils led 42-33 at the break.

Louisville got it back to 10 five times in the final minutes, but never got any closer.

Ellis had seven assists to go with his 21 points.
