Halfway through February and it’s time to start taking a look at where the Cards will fall in the 2017 post-season.

As it stands right now the Cards control their own destiny for a double bye in the ACC Tournament next month. Louisville is 9-4 in league play and holds a tie-breaker over Duke at 8-4. The Cards do have losses to Florida State (9-4) and Virginia (8-4) and will play North Carolina (9-3). There is obviously still a lot of ground to cover for UofL Basketball until the rest of the season but a few wins in Brooklyn would go a long way to earning an advantageous seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Right now the Road to Phoenix looks like it will begin in Indianapolis and while the people who do this for a living seem to flip UofL between Kansas City and New York City there are similar teams in each of the pods that we’ve listed here.

USA Today: #2 seed in Kansas City Region via Indianapolis, IN. (#1 Kansas, #3 Arizona, #4 Butler, #5 Purdue, #6 SMU, #7 Xavier)

ESPN Joe Lunardi: #2 seed in Kansas City Region via Indianapolis, IN (#1 Kansas, #3 Arizona, #4 Duke, #5 Wisconsin, #6 SMU, #7 Xavier)
