According to the Courier-Journal’s Steve Jones University of Louisville Quarterback Will Gardner has selected West Georgia (DII). Will’s father, Glenn, wrote to Steve Jones of the C-J that Will would transfer to West Georgia and begin classes next week.
Will Gardner is a Georgia native and is eligible to play immediately after graduating from Louisville a few weeks ago. West Georgia lost in the DII Final Four.
Gardner succeeded Teddy Bridgewater as the starter for the 2014 season and was the Cards starting quarterback for much of last season until a knee injury (suffered during Florida International) eventually sidelined him for good vs. Boston College ending his career as a Cardinal.
Will has had multiple surgeries on his knees and at TheCrunchZone.com we wish the hard-luck kid nothing but the best. Gardner was always a pleasure and a shining example of the type of people every fan, coach, and administrator wanted in the program.
