3rd in a series highlighting potential selections from the University of Louisville in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Hakeem Smith is a 4-year ALL Conference Performer for the University of Louisville. Hakeem started his 2nd game as a Red-shirt freshman and NEVER came out of the starting line-up starting 51 of 52 games during his career. The Cards were 37-15 during Smith’s tenure, including a 23-3 record during his final 2 years.
Hakeem registered 290 tackles during his career and was an excellent open field tackler, fearless against the run. Former Defensive Coordinator once said of Smith: “He isn’t too fast, he isn’t too big, but he’s there to do the job. We don’t have anyone more reliable.”
