Deflated.  That’s how we all felt after this last regular season home match.  The Wolfpack struck first in the 31st minute of the first half, ending a 5 game shutout streak. The visiting freshman, Manny Perez would ruin the Senior Night party for the Cards.

Senior and Lexington native Mohamed Thiaw would equalize on a penalty kick, after the half, in the 57th minute and then give Louisville the lead late in the 78th minute on a beautiful connection in the back of the left side of the goal.  Him and junior Tate Schmitt were on the hunt all night with a combined 11 shots.  The Cards defense then gave up 2 late, very late, goals  (81:32, 87:41).  Coach Lolla says that he didn’t change the defensive scheme quick enough… deflated.  That’s what we all felt.

This one hurt.  But it will be remembered come post season.  The Cards have one more on the road, Clemson, before post season. The ACC tournament will be held Nov.1-12 in Charleston, S.C.

Watch Coach Lolla talk about this match and Mo Thiaw say his BEST memory at Louisville hasn’t happened yet because they’re gonna win the National Championship! I hear ya, Mo!
