Details have emerged on Russ Smith’s recently signed contract with the New Orleans Pelicans.
Russ Smith has signed a 3-Year $2,332,826 deal with the New Orleans Pelicans. Russ will earn $507,336 during the 2014-15 season, the 1st year is the only guaranteed year in the deal.
Russ is under contract through the 2016-17 seasons with a scheduled salary of $845,059 during the 2015-16 season, escalating to $980,431 for the 2016-17 NBA Season.
The Pelicans do retain a club option for 2017-18 where Russ would be a Restricted Free Agent. If that option is activated Russ would be due $1,251,245.
Also if Russ is waived before 7/15/15 by the Pelicans he would be due $150,000……..if he is waived AFTER 7/15/15 then his 2015-16 season becomes fully guaranteed. The same clause exists for the 2016-17 term of his contract minus the $150,000 waiver fee.
*NOTE: TheCrunchZone.com does not report contracts as signed until they are verified in the league’s system and details of the deal are known.
