University of Louisville defensive coordinator Ron English has been named the ACC’s Coordinator of the Week by CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz.

English’s defense was stellar in Louisville’s a 28-14 win over James Madison at L&N Stadium Friday night.  The Cards held the Dukes to just 263 yards overall, including 3.4 yards per play. James Madison was limited to 137 yards through the air and just 126 yards on the ground.

Louisville also forced their first two turnovers of the season: one being an interception by cornerback Jabari Mack, and the other being a strip sack fumble forced by defensive end Clev Lubin, which led to a recovery in the end zone by A.J. Green.

The Cardinals recorded a season high six sacks on Friday night.

Louisville returns to action on Sept. 20 at Noon against Bowling Green at L&N Stadium.
