Orangebloods.com is reporting that Charlie Strong is interviewing for the University of Texas job. Here is an excerpt from their article:
“One high-level source said Patterson on Tuesday flew to an undisclosed location to interview Louisville coach Charlie Strong, who has received a high recommendation from the search firm Korn/Ferry, which is assisting in the hunt for Mack Brown’s replacement.”
The report also states that new Texas AD Steve Patterson is expected to make a decision within a week. So we should have some resolve to this situation rather quickly. It is important to remember that Orangebloods.com has been about as legit as it gets. They were the very first ones to report that Former Texas AD DeLoss Dodds would resign, along with Mack Brown – that’s only the latest example.
It’s also report to remember two things, an interview does not mean A: That Charlie Strong will take the job or B. That Texas will offer it to him. However, it does mean – if this report is accurate – that the Charlie Strong to Texas rumors will heat up a little more as we precede in the upcoming days. I’ve always stated that he would not be a correct fit. It will be interesting to see how it pans out. Stay tuned.
