Louisville has suffered its first significant injury of the season with standout safety MJ Griffin going down with an undisclosed leg injury that is likely going to cause him to miss the 2023 season.

MJ Griffin was entered into the lineup mid-season last year in replacement for Kenderick Duncan and the defense blossomed into one of the top units in the nation and the difference between the 1st five games of the season and the final 8 were night and day.

Griffin was set for a HUGE season in 2023. But not the Cards will have to turn to North Carolina transfer Carm’Ron Kelly who was 3rd Team All-ACC for the 2021 season and started all 12 games for the Tar Heels last year.
