After Louisville’s season ending loss to Virginia we were able to come up with a couple of notes.
-David Padgett will replace Louisville Assistant Coach Ralph Willard on the bench next season. Rick Pitino will be in the market for a Director of Basketball Operations for the 2016-17 season. Willard came out of retirement to assist Pitino with the team during this summer for its trip to Puerto Rico. Padgett played with UofL from 2005-2008 and was 1st team All Big East as a senior.
-Louisville Center Mangok Mathiang laughed off a report that he was potentially transferring to Nebraska for the 2016-17 season. Mangok told the Courier-Journal’s Jeff Greer that he didn’t even know anyone on the Nebraska coaching staff despite his friend and former team mate Anton Gill moving to the Cornhuskers following last season.
-Also in his post-game Rick Pitino said that Tom Jurich has implored Pitino to stick with the Cards saying: “I need you to fight through this with me”.
