** Louisville is “Number 1” for 3* quarterback Jacob Free. Free, who has been hearing most from FAU, WKU, Alabama, and Louisville said that “Campus, program facilities, coaches, upgrades coming, you name it” were all things that stick out most about UofL. . Free also commented on the opportunity to play for Coach Petrino “It’s a great opportunity being the coach he is”. While the 6’5″, 200lb quarterback does not have a visit planned at this time, his recruitment will be one we will definitely keep an eye on. He has prototypical QB size, a great arm with great touch, and is athletic enough to tuck and run effectively when need be. Despite him currently being a 3* QB I think he is very underrated and would be great if Louisville could secure his commitment.

** 2* outside linebacker Steven Franklin of Glasgow, Kentucky does not currently hold an offer from UofL but has been hearing a lot from them and really likes the school “In totally honesty, I just love every thing Louisville has to offer! It’s just a great place” Franklin said. He also added that he has been able to visit UofL several times and enjoys it each time “I’ve been up there at least 5 times and I love each and every time I go”.

** Louisville will host East Mississippi Community College defensive end Rasool Clemons this weekend along with current UofL commit and teammate TJ Jallow. Clemons was a 4* coming out of high school that had committed to Ole Miss but went the JUCO route. According to Clemons, Louisville just started contacting him but he likes them and is looking for an offer.

** We are on commit watch as two top Louisville targets visit campus this weekend: Tadarrius Patterson and Malik Cunningham. Below is a link to the article detailing more information.

** The commitment of 2016 offensive lineman Linwood Foy may have come as a surprise to some but it was clear Louisville was looking to add 1 more offensive lineman to the 2016 recruiting class. When UofL lost out on UNC transfer Jared Cohen they began looking for other options and Foy happened to be available at the time. While Foy may not have been their top target I think the staff sees a lot of potential in the athletic lineman. According to his junior college coach, Foy has only played offensive line for 1 year and has a great attitude. Coach Petrino has done some good work with athletic, not highly recruited offensive lineman so it will be interesting to see what impact Foy has. Another note on the offensive line: As it appears Louisville only took 1 freshman lineman in Robbie Bell but it sounds like TE Austin Cummins may be groomed to be an offensive lineman down the road (Breno Giacomini anyone?).

** In case you missed it, here is the commit profile of 2017 Louisville commit TJ Jallow.
