Kyle Kuric’s father Steve Kuric has sent an update on his son from Barcelona, Spain.  From Steve Kuric:

“Today we have seen further progress with Kyle.  The sedation has been discontinued and he is responding more to us.  He is off of the ventilator and breathing well on his own.  He is still in the ICU and will remain there for a few more days.  We know that he still has a ways to go yet, but we are encouraged by the improvement!”

“As always we are very grateful for all of your thoughts and prayers for Kyle.  Thank you.”

Kyle Kuric went to a Barcelona hospital for a migraine headache when the tumor was discovered.  Kyle has been in Barcelona playing for the Spanish Gran Canaria club.

The tumor is described as a Meningioma.  Meningiomas are a diverse set of tumors arising from the meninges, the membranous layers surrounding the central nervous system. They arise from the arachnoid “cap” cells of the arachnoid villi in the meninges. These tumors usually are benign in nature; however, a small percentage are malignant.
