The top seed in the 100M butterfly will be Torre Huske, who broke the American Record with a time of 55.78 to earn lane four in the finals. Claire Curzan will be the second seed.  Dahlia earned a second swim as the top seed in the semi-finals of the 100 butterfly after posting the fastest prelim time of the day with a 56.56.

In all, 31 Cardinals will compete for slots on the squad with the first ten Cards having competed in Wave I June 4-7.   To limit athlete numbers and promote health and safety amid the coronavirus pandemic this week, USA Swimming split its 2021 Olympic Trials meet into two separate waves.

Louisville’s contingent will be led by four professional swimmers that includes Olympic gold medalist Kelsi Worrell Dahlia. Of the current Cardinals, two-time NCAA champion Nick Albiero will spearhead the Cards.

Olympic team selected from the Wave II results. USA Swimming is expecting around 19 more qualifiers per event.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games are scheduled for Friday July 23, 2021 – Sunday August 8, 2021 in Tokyo, Japan.
