Louisville Football secured its 21st commitment of the 2016 signing class when the Cards landed OL/DL James DeMatto from Marietta, GA (Atlanta) of Kell HS. James is a 3-star prospect according to 247sports, a 2-star prospect according to Rivals and Scout has yet to rate DeMatto. Jody Demling of CardinalAuthority.com broke the news first.

The 6’4, 280 lbs Offensive Lineman continues a recent trend of Georgia players coming to Louisville.  DeMatto chose Louisville over offers from Syracuse and various other non-Power 5 schools.

James DeMatto joins Jaquelle Green, Lamarques Thomas, Caleb Tillman, Tabarius Peterson, Keion Wakefield, Mike Boykin, Jawon Pass, Malik Staples, Dwayne Wallace, Taylor Yamanhoa, Seth Dawkins, Desmond Fitzpatrick, Baylen Buchanan, Rodjay Burns, Robbie Bell, Derek Dorsey, Austin Cummins, Tylin Oden and Austin Johnson in the 2016 signing class this February. With DeMatto’s commitment the Cards recruiting class currently ranks #17 according to Rivals, #24 by 247sports, and #25 by Scout.com.
