University of Louisville senior tight end Cole Hikutini has been named the John Mackey Award Tight End of the Week, it was announced Wednesday morning.
Hikutini, the third-leading receiver on the team, tied a career-high with four receptions for 85 yards and two touchdowns last Saturday’s in a 59-28 win at Marshall.
Scoring a pair of touchdowns for the second time in his career, Hikutini caught touchdown passes of eight and 30 yards on consecutive possessions to put the Cardinals ahead 21-0 in the second quarter.
The Sacramento, Calif., native has caught 12 passes for 177 yards and three touchdowns, while averaging 14.8 yards a reception in guiding the Cardinals to a 4-0 record.
Louisville will take its No. 3 ranking and undefeated record to face No. 5 Clemson on Saturday at 8 p.m.
