Petrino vs. Auburn 3-1
Taking a look at Coach Petrino vs. Auburn, all 4 games occurred while Bobby was in Fayetteville. His initial team that finished 5-7 would defeat #25 Auburn 25-22 AT Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn. In 2009 Petrino’s Razorbacks took down #17 Auburn in Fayetteville 44-23…Gus Malzahn was the Offensive Coordinator beginning in 2009.
In 2010, Petrino’s lone loss to the Tigers came during a 65-43 thriller when Arkansas simply stopped scoring after the Razorbacks gained the lead in the 4th quarter 43-37 in Jordan-Hare Stadium. Auburn’s Cameron Newton & Michael Dyer made plays to win the game in the Gus Malzahn offense and eventually were crowned the National Champions of the 2010 season.
Coach Petrino edged his advantage over Auburn to 3-1 in his final season at Arkansas with a 38-14 victory at Razorback Stadium. Petrino also improved to 2-1 at Arkansas vs. offenses coached by Gus Malzhan. with the 2011 win over the Tigers.
