The Cards landed a commitment from 5-star Small Forward Trentyn Flowers. Flowers was formerly in the 2024 class, but at his commitment he also announced that he would play for the Cards next fall and will be joining the 2023 class.
At 6’8 and 210 lbs Trentyn is the #21 player nationally in 2024 (we will see where he ranks once the recruiting services implement him into the 2023 class).
Flowers chose Louisville over Creighton, Memphis, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgetown, Illinois, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, LSU, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, etc. etc. etc. Basically, Flowers chose Louisville over the rest of college basketball.
This is a massive pick up for the Cards. Louisville has landed Dennis Evans, Skyy Clark and now Trentyn Flowers all within a 10 day window. It’s exactly what Kenny Payne needed to do immediately following a 4-28 season.
Flowers played at Combine Academy in Charlotte, NC.
