The University of Louisville is sending 13 individuals to the 2016 Summer Olympiad in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Former Cardinal Angel McCoughtry will attempt to repeat as a Gold Medalist for the U.S. Women’s Basketball team and Swimmer Kelsi Worrell will attempt to win her 1st medal for Team USA Swimming. Additionally Jessica Javelet, a former UofL Field Hockey player will compete on Team USA’s Rugby Team.
In addition to that trio that will represent the United States the Cards will be present on team from 10 other countries. We’ll be keeping an eye on all our Cardinals and hope that they can medal for their country. The opening ceremony begins tonight at 7:00 on NBC.
