The University of Louisville Athletic Association will meet Thursday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a 10:20 a.m. meeting with the Board of Trustees to approve the hiring of the Head Football Coach. The meeting is a procedural formality at UofL as Tom Jurich has the full support of President James Ramsey, the Athletic Board, and the Board of Trustees.
All indications are that Tom Jurich’s choice is Bobby Petrino. Western Kentucky Athletic Director Todd Stewart has reportedly discussed the Hilltopper top job with former UofL QB and Coach Jeff Brohm. Petrino was on campus with his wife Tuesday morning and the ‘buzz’ surrounding a return to the Cards quickly followed. Bobby Petrino has not been mentioned in association with any other open jobs, and is Louisville’s All-Time Winning Percentage Coach at 82%, 41-9.
According to ESPN’s Brett McMurphy, Bobby Petrino is one of 3 finalists. Look for word to ‘officially break’ sometime between now and the meeting, but TheCrunchZone.com expects Bobby Petrino to follow Charlie Strong as the next Head Coach for the Cards.
Stay tuned, we will provide you with details as they become available.
