Rick Pitino revealed on his blog Saturday that Trey Lewis is OUT for Sunday evening’s game vs. Wake Forest with a bad ankle sprain. Here is the full statement from Rick Pitino:
“We need you Card fans more than ever on Sunday night when we play Wake Forest. Trey Lewis is out with a bad ankle sprain suffered in practice on Friday. We are behind the eight ball with no backup point. We will see with practice what to do. Levitch is option one. Ryan off red shirt option two. There is no foreseeable third option. Get ready. We need you !!!”
Quentin Snider & David Levitch can probably handle the work load, but with the ACC schedule beginning and the Cards already without Mangok Mathiang the Louisville bench is getting thin. Hopefully they can keep the redshirt on McMahon until Trey Lewis gets back. Lewis was also hobbled with a heel injury recently.
Louisville plays Wake Forest at the Yum! Center Sunday Night at 8:00 on ESPNU. The Cards are also set to travel to Raleigh, NC to face NC State for a game on 1/7.
