Louisville is hosting a transitioning Virginia Tech Hokies program that has struggled this season. VT lacks a lot of size in its roster and has lost 8 of its last 9 contests.
The Hokies do not turn the ball over much at all and allow the fewest steals in the country. But ball security is about there it ends in terms of efficiency. VT is OK at shooting the 3-pointer and they do not foul very often beyond that this is a team that is getting its feet underneath it with new Head Coach Mike Young who came to Blacksburg after spending his entire head coaching career at Wofford.
This is a game that Louisville needs to get back on its feet after losing 3 of 5. As we approach the post-season the Cards are still in position for all 4 of the Top seeds of the ACC Tournament depending on UofL’s outcome and the remaining outcomes of Florida State, Duke and Virginia.

Wear Red For the Seniors
The University of Louisville men’s basketball’s annual “Wear Red for the Seniors” game is set for March 1 at the KFC Yum! Center when the Cardinals face Virginia Tech in the final home game of the season. Cardinal fans are encouraged to wear red attire for that Senior Day event and arrive by 5:30 p.m. for the pregame ceremony.
Six players will participate in the ceremony including Steven Enoch, Fresh Kimble, Ryan McMahon, Jordan Nwora, Keith Oddo and Dwayne Sutton. Each have already earned their bachelor’s degree except Nwora, who is a senior academically and on target to graduate this summer. Louisville has won 16 of its last 18 Senior Day games.
While ranging from one to five years with the Cardinals, the group has combined to score 3,512 points, grab 1,652 rebounds, hand out 498 assists and log 8,762 minutes at UofL. During the period that stretches from the season Ryan McMahon first played for the Cardinals after a redshirt year until now, Louisville has won 90 games over the last four seasons (2016-20).
Three senior student managers — Kyle Doctor, Kevin Nichols and Brett Siegel — will also be recognized during the Senior Day ceremony.
