Two UofL men’s basketball players, Reyne Smith and Terrence Edwards Jr., have been selected for NBA Summer League rosters. Smith will play for the Denver Nuggets while Edwards will represent the Milwaukee Bucks.

The NBA 2K26 Summer League, hosted by UNLV in Las Vegas, Nev., will run July 10-20. The Summer League also includes the California Classic (July 5, 6 & 8) and Salt Lake City Summer League (July 5, 7 & 8).

Smith spent his final year of eligibility with the Cardinals after playing for head coach Pat Kelsey at the College of Charleston for the previous three seasons.

The Ulverstone, Australia, native started in 18 games for Louisville, playing in 31 total. He averaged 13.1 points per game, shooting 37.9% from the arc on the year. His 107 3-pointers were the second-most ever by a Cardinal in a single season.

Smith was third in the country in three-pointers per game (3.45), 15th in total 3-pointers made (107) and 19th in three-point attempts (282). He had six games of 20 points or more, leading Louisville in scoring on eight occasions. Smith participated in adidas Eurocamp, the only officially sanctioned NBA pre-draft camp outside of the United States, earlier this summer.

Edwards Jr. was a Third Team All-ACC selection and named to the ACC Tournament First Team. He appeared in all 35 games for the Cardinals, starting in 32 of those contests.

The Atlanta, Ga., native led the Cards in scoring for the season, averaging 16.7 points on 43.7% FG, netting 206 of 471 shots. His 585 total points was the 16th-most by a Cardinal in a single season.

Edwards Jr. added 4.1 rebounds and 2.66 assists per contest throughout the year. In the ACC Tournament, he averaged 25.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.67 assists over UofL’s three games. The guard/forward logged 14 games of 20-plus points, leading Louisville in scoring on 13 occasions. He never scored less than 13 points in a game from Jan. 28 onward. He competed in the Portsmouth Invitational as part of his draft preparation process.

In addition to Louisville’s four draft picks in the last eight years, four other Cardinals have reached the NBA as undrafted free agents in the same time frame, including Deng Adel (Cleveland Cavaliers, 2018), Jaylen Johnson (Chicago Bulls, 2018), Mangok Mathiang (Charlotte Hornets, 2017) and Damion Lee (Atlanta Hawks/Golden State Warriors, 2017).
