The #6 ranked Louisville Cardinals are seeking their 6th win in the a row when they host the Clemson Tigers Saturday afternoon inside the KFC Yum! Center.
Clemson (10-8, 4-4 ACC) has been up and down during the 2019-2020 season with really nice wins vs. Duke, TCU, NC State and North Carolina…. and some really bad losses to Yale and Miami. Brad Brownell’s team has been tested they’ve played Virginia Tech close, Colorado close and they’ve taken some lumps against Florida State and South Carolina.
6’8, 240 lbs Aamir Simms leads Clemson in production at 14.4 ppg and 7.7 rpg. Simms scores inside, he scores outside and he is a true challenge for any team that tries to match-up against Clemson.
Texas/Alabama transfer Tevin Mack is Clemson’s 2nd leading scorer at 11.9 ppg (Tevin averaged 14.8 ppg at Texas his sophomore season). Mack is a weapon, not as much from outside, but he rebounds really well at 6’6, 227.
Overall Clemson does struggle to score overall despite Mack & Simms production. The Tigers do much of their damage inside and the win over Duke is a good example of the variety of small games Clemson can play on its interior to take advantage of defenses. This will be a very important game for Malik Williams and Steven Enoch to play well in order for the Cards to beat Clemson.
