Six Cardinals Enter Football Transfer Portal

As we approach the portal deadline AND after Spring Practice has concluded Louisville Football saw 6 Cardinals enter the portal on Tuesday.

Starting Kicker James Turner has started for the Cards the past 3 seasons and in 2022 had a stellar campaign netting 20 of 22 attempts which was a single-season record at Louisville. Turner made 3 FGs in Louisville’s Spring Game on Friday. Turner had a STRONG season in 2020 but followed up in 2021 with a subpar campaign. It was nice to see him rebound with such a strong performance in 2022.

Reserve Tight End Dez Melton entered the portal. He appeared in 31 games and had 4 catches for 81 yards during his UofL career.

Redshirt Freshman Chance Morrow also entered the portal following his redshirt season. At 6’6, 195 from Charlotte, NC Morrow was a 2022 signee.

Aaron Gunn a reserve Offensive Lineman entered the portal. Gunn was a signee in 2021.

Quarterback Khalib Johnson also elected to enter the portal. Khalib was a signee in the 2022 class and was injured in Spring of 2022 and did not play last season. He was an state champion in 6-A Alabama for Clay-Chalkville HS.

Safety Jeremiah Caldwell, a member of the 2022 class announced that he is entering the transfer portal. A former UK commit and native of Michigan, Caldwell came from powerhouse Belleville.
