Patrick Thomas Jr. finished his redshirt Freshman Season at Georgia Military this past fall and has found a home at the University of Louisville.  Thomas will be eligible immediately for the Cards and will enroll at UofL May 16th.

Thomas originally committed to Louisville’s Offensive Coordinator Garrick McGee at UAB this past December before McGee left his head coaching position to come to Louisville.  The relationship has remained intact, and now the Cards have inked one of the top dual threat QBs in the country.

Louisville fans can watch a complete film of Thomas at GMI from this past year here.

Charlie Strong and Texas made a late push for Patrick, but the Cards were able to land the commitment from the young signal caller.  Thomas provides a very solid option as Will Gardner’s #2 for the 2014-15 season the Cards first in the ACC.  Coaches and fans alike were very concerned about depth at Quarterback behind Gardner, with Kyle Bolin not yet ready, an unproven Brett Nelson, and a true freshman in Reggie Bonnafon.  Louisville was a play away from being in a precarious situation at QB.  Now the Cards have a solid option and more competition.

Patrick Thomas, Jr. is 6’4″ 185 lbs runs a reported 4.50 40-yard dash and can do this from his knee:
