The 2021 NCAA Tournament (chaired by Kentucky Athletic Director Mitch Barnhart) omitted the Louisville Cardinals from the 68-team NCAA Tournament.
Louisville has played just 3 NCAA Tournament games and just 2 Tournaments since the 2015 Elite Run. A self-imposed ban in 2016, a 2nd round exit in 2017, a David Padgett 2018 NIT run, a 1st round exit in Year 1 of Chris Mack in 2019… and of course a 2020 NCAA Tournament that did not happen.
Louisville WAS selected a the 1st replacement team (69th) for the NCAA Tournament should a team withdraw by Tuesday.
