University of Louisville football linebacker Isaac Stewart and defensive back Lyn Strange were granted their release from the program, head football coach Bobby Petrino said on Wednesday.
Stewart, a native of Charlotte, N.C., appeared in 11 games for the Cardinals in 2017, finishing with 26 tackles and two tackles for loss. He earned starts versus Boston College and Florida State – totaling a career-high 10 tackles in the win on the road over the Seminoles.
The native of Leon, Fla., Strange sat out as a redshirt last season.
