The University of Louisville has confirmed that Lorenzo Mauldin has been involved in a moped accident this morning.
Details are slowing emerging, but early speculation is that the hit & run accident occurred at Floyd & Hahn where there were multiple eyewitnesses. LOZO’s status on the severity of his injuries is unknown.
10:58: Mauldin is alert and responsive at Jewish hospital and will undergo multiple tests.
11:02: Campus Police Confirmed the accident as a ‘hit & run’. Police are looking for a champagne-colored sedan/or compact car. Accident occurred at 8:45 a.m.
11:25: Waiting on tests, but thinks Lozo will be ok.
11:45: Eyewitness says Lozo was not wearing a helmet.
1:12 p.m.: Preliminary tests on Mauldin have come back good. Will be kept overnight for continued observation and evaluation for precautionary reasons
Evening Press Conference: Charlie updates that Lozo was fortunate as he could have been given the situation, but ultimately won’t know everything until Wednesday morning, as he will be observed overnight.
Wednesday am: Lozo released from Hospital after a night of observation, per Jonathon Lintner.
Wednesday am: “Tests and evaluations continue to be positive. No serious orthopedic injuries & status will be evaluated over the next few days”. Per UofL.
