The author of “Breaking Cardinal Rules” is out of hiding and will make taped appearances on several national television programs tomorrow beginning with Good Morning America, Sportscenter and eventually Outside the Lines. Andre McGee’s attorney Scott Cox confirmed that ESPN also has reached out for an interview with Andre.

*It’s unclear who interviewed Powell.  Whether Good Morning America’s people & ESPN’s Bob Ley were given the opportunity to ask their own questions OR if the Indiana Book Publishing LLC taped the interview and distributed it to the outlets. The Courier-Journal’s Jeff Greer tells us that it was presented to him that an OTL reporter conducted the interview.*

*We’ve learned that Outside the Lines John Barr conducted the taped interview that will be used on GMA, OTL, and Sportscenter”. *  Barr is an investigative reporter for ESPN and a graduate of Indiana University.

The Sportscenter hit will come during the 8:00 a.m. Sportscenter and the Outside the Lines bit will occur at 1:30 for an hour-long episode. Good Morning America airs from 7 a.m. – 9 a.m.

Powell’s book written by Dick Cady was hurriedly published in digital format a little over 2 weeks ago.  Since that time reporters have been awaiting word from Ms. Powell regarding the accuracy of several points in the book.  Author Dick Cady has verified that some of the text messages included were ‘re-created’.

Katina’s scheduled appearances come in conjunction with the book’s availability in hardback. The book claims a host of allegations resulting from association with Katina Powell’s prostitution, organized crime, and drug use.  Former player and former Director of Basketball Operations is alleged to have arranged and paid for the services of Katina Powell & her escorts (including her daughters) for basketball recruits, players, and fathers.

It’s safe to say that several in the media have been seeking comment from Powell since “Breaking Cardinal Rules” was released.  TheCrunchZone.com will keep its readers apprised of any developments that occur prior to these interviews and thereafter.
