Along with his team earning a 1-seed in this year’s NCAA tournament and hosting first and second round games, Coach Walz has earned himself a revised contract which includes an extension through the 2028-2029 season.

In his tenure, Coach Walz has led Louisville to a 410-112 record and turned the program into one of the top tier programs in the country. With 15 years under his belt as the head coach, Walz has built quite the resume boasting 10 trips to the Sweet Sixteen, 6 trips to the Elite Eight, 3 trips to the Final Four, and 2 trips to the National Championship game. Coach Walz is the all-time winningest coach in program history, averaging 27.3 wins per season and reaching 20 wins for 12 consecutive seasons.

The 1-seed Louisville Cardinals begin their tournament run tonight when they host Albany at 6:00p.m. at the KFC Yum! Center. Should they win, they will face the winner of Nebraska/Gonzaga at the Yum! Center on Sunday.
