University of Louisville Running Back Javian Hawkins has opted out of the remaining games for the 2020 season and declared for the NFL Draft.

Javian’s Twitter message was as follows:

After much prayer and discussion with my family I have decided to opt out of the remaining 2020 season and begin preparation for the 2021 NFL Draft. Over the next few months, I will be finishing my semester at Louisville, while also preparing for the Draft.

My experience at Louisville has been nothing short of amazing. My teammates, coaches, professors and entire Louisville family has prepared me for my next chapter in the NFL. I will forever be grateful to everyone who has contributed to my journey at Louisville.

I thank God for blessing me with this talent and opportunity. This is an opportunity that I realize is a privilege and I will never take it for granted. I would like to thank my parents, siblings and the entire family for their love and unyielding support.

I would like to thank Coach Satterfield, Coach McKenzie and the entire coaching staff for their guidance. They have made me a better player and person. I would like to thank my teammates for their support, both on and off the field. Last, but certainly not least, I would like to thank the best fans in college football.

I want to also extend a special thank you to all of the First Responders, medical professionals and all other essential workers for keeping us safe during this challenging COVID enviornment.

I hope to continue to make everyone proud as I pursue my lifelong dream. Thank You.
