Recently, UofL football conducted their annual pre-spring testing to determine a player’s progression in the weight room. Top 2017 Louisville football recruit, running back Jamari Peacock also recently did some testing of his own in the weight room and sent me his results:

Jamari Peacock:

Height: 6’0″

Weight: 236 lbs

Clean and Jerk: 280 lbs

Pause Bench Press: 335 lbs

Bench Press: 350 lbs

Squat: 545 lbs

Jamari Peacock is rated 4* by ESPN, the 242nd player in his class and the #26 running back. After his visit to Louisville early last month, Peacock declared UofL the favorite and when asked if they still were the favorite, his response? “Of course”. The athletic running back from Yulee, Florida has been in contact with Coach Petrino and plans to start taking visits this summer.

Peacock, for those who are not familiar with his school, follows the footsteps of a great running back, Derrick Henry. Peacock said that he talks to Henry “a good bit” and that Henry “helped me a lot with dealing with certain situations and how to go about things.” Overall the situation as been positive for Peacock as he said it has helped push him more.

Louisville is in a position to lose 2 running backs (Brandon Radcliff and Malin Jones) following the 2016 season and 2 running backs (LJ Scott and Jeremy Smith) following the 2017 season, so running back is a position of need in the upcoming class. Peacock would be a perfect addition for Louisville not only given the talent he possesses but also the fact that Peacock plans to enroll early in college.
