Over the weekend Louisville added a transfer from Northwestern, Running Back Malin Jones (6’0″ 200 lbs). Jones played in 8 games last year for the Wildcats getting 3 carries for just 1 yard and caught one pass for 6 yards. Jones redshirted in 2011 and was little used in 2012 & 2013 but was highly regarded out of high school and was the 10th best player in Illinois in the 2011 crop.
Malin was a 3-star by 247sports.com, Rivals.com, and Scout.com out of Naperville, Illinois’ Joliet Catholic. He had offers from Northwesten, Illinois, Iowa, Louisville, Notre Dame, Boston College, and Toledo. Jones is 3rd All-Time at Joliet in rushing yardage ahead of Mike Alstott. Malin’s father, Earl Jones played 9 seasons for the Atlanta Falcons.
