Louisville Left (Weak) Tackle Geron Christian announced on Instagram Wednesday evening that he will forgo his senior year at UofL and will enter the 2018 NFL Draft. Christian had until 1/15 to make his decision but has started since day 1 as a true freshman and has proven durable and effective. Geron’s brother Gerald played tight end for the Cards and was the NFL’s Mr. Irrelevant in the 2015 draft as the last selection by the Arizona Cardinals. Gerald has spent time with Arizona & Buffalo.
We presume that this means that OT Mekhi Becton will now move into Geron’s spot in the line-up after a stellar freshman season. Louisville signed a very talented Offensive Line class in 2017 with several players redshirting. The Cards now must await the decision of Lukayus McNeil who entertained entering the NFL draft after the 2016 season.
