The 2021 WNBA draft took place tonight and Card Nation found itself cheering on the beloved Dana Evans. Selected 13th overall by the Dallas Wings, Dana will head west to kick off her professional career. She was Dallas’ fourth pick of the draft and selected first in the second round.
Dana finished her senior season at Louisville playing in 30 games and averaging 20.1 points per game, which led the ACC. Evans went from Sixth Player of the Year to two-time ACC Player of the Year. She led Louisville to an Elite Eight this season after going to the ACC Championship game. Through her four years at Louisville, she racked up endless accolades including several All-American nods and was the third Cardinal to be named a First Team AP All-American. Evans finished her career at Louisville with a 122-15 record.
Dana is the 14th Cardinal to be selected in the WNBA draft and is sure to be remembered as one of the best to ever wear a Louisville jersey. Good luck, Dana!
