The ninth-ranked University of Louisville baseball team took a 12-7 loss against Lipscomb on Tuesday night at Jim Patterson Stadium.
Louisville (21-7) allowed a season-high 12 runs in the loss.
The Cardinals jumped on the board early with a sacrifice fly from JT Benson and run-scoring single from Matt Klein in the bottom of the first.
Lipscomb (12-16) plated a run in the second, but Logan Beard answered back with a solo home run in the bottom half of the frame.
The Bisons took their first lead of the night with back-to-back home runs in the third, the first of which was a three-run shot.
Louisville tied the game up with two more runs in the bottom of the third, but Lipscomb pushed five more runs across in the fifth and led the rest of the way.
Beard and Gavin Kilen drove in single runs in the fifth to get the Cardinals back within three, however they were unable to score over the remaining four innings.
Beard was 3-for-3 on the night with three RBIs.
