Denver Broncos Head Coach Vic Fangio informed his team (and the media) that former Louisville Cardinal Teddy Bridgewater would be the starting quarterback for the franchise in 2021. Teddy battled Drew Lock during this pre-season.
With Bridgewater and Lamar Jackson with the Ravens the Cardinals will have two starting Quarterbacks to open the 2021 season.
Bridgewater, 28, is set to make $11,499,000 this season and is an unrestricted free agent at the end of 2021. Teddy will have earned over $55 Million at the end of 2021.
Bridgewater has played in 59 NFL games and started 49. He’s thrown for 11,385 yards with 53 Touchdowns (36 INTs) with a completion % of 66.5. Teddy was selected to the 2015 Pro Bowl and missed the 2016 season after suffering a broken leg during training camp with the Minnesota Vikings.
Since his leg injury Teddy spent an off-season with the New York Jets before being traded to the New Orleans Saints and signing as a free agent with the Carolina Panthers for the 2020 season and was traded to the Broncos this off-season.
The Broncos open the 2021 season at MetLife Stadium vs. the New York Giants on September 12 at 4:25 p.m.
