Former Louisville Basketball player and Director of Operations Andre McGee has resigned from his assistant coaching job at UMKC amid the scandal of allegations from Katina Powell. Andre was previously placed on paid administrative leave when the story first broke 21 days ago.
In his statement the key phrase from McGee was: “The university deserves a full-time assistant coach and I am not able to provide that to the basketball team while the false allegations against me are being investigated.”
Andre’s resignation prohibits the NCAA from compelling McGee to speak with investigators, and may prolong the investigation as a result.
