One of the highest rated members of the 2017 Louisville football recruiting class, Rodney Owens Jr, visited Louisville Wednesday and had the opportunity to talk with Coach Petrino and Coach Dennison. The 6’0″ 185lb safety from Ensworth High School in Nashville, TN said he talked to the coaches about the defensive scheme and how he would fit in. “They see me being able to come in as a freshman and compete for playing time and also being versatile in playing free and strong safety and also nickel” Owens said. “I was impressed with their coaching style, I’m really looking forward to playing for them”.
Owens said he plans to be back in Louisville July 15th and will officially visit Louisville this fall for a game which will be determined at a later time.
